1970s Laura Ashley Blue Ditsy Print Balloon Sleeve Maxi Dress 12 14 16
Wonderful 1970s Laura Ashley made in Wales maxi dress. Lovely soft powder blue in base colour with a deeper navy floral ditsy print throughout. High neckline & sheer vertical crochet panels at the pintuck bust. Amazing ballooned sleeves with wide cuffs to cinch & a long flowing skirt. This dress is from my personal collection and has been worn twice in the time I’ve owned it but I bought it from the original owner who often wore it to paint & it does have faint areas evidence of this in places, most notably at the cuffs. This actually made me fall in love with it all the more as I love to know the history but I know how particular collectors can be so I wanted to make sure it was clear that this wasn’t in perfect condition. It’s a good rare size & is suitable for a modern day 12-16 dependant on desired fit. I’m very sad to let her go but it’s not a style I’ve reached for often & I’d rather it be worn & loved by someone else instead of gathering dust in my wardrobe.
Measurements (these are taken from the rear of the garment when laid flat so need to be doubled where appropriate):
Pit to pit: free
Waist: 19.5”
Full length: 57”
Material: cotton
Condition: as stated above
When choosing to buy vintage please bear in mind these items have been loved before & may show general wear and use in accordance with their age. Any noticeable flaws will be noted in the listing. Please review both descriptions & photos carefully before making a purchase.
Sizings are all approximate in line with the measurements of any particular piece, to be sure something is the right fit for you we recommend checking these against a similar garment you already own before making your decision.
All sales are final however I’m always happy to re-share pieces to socials in the event of them not being suitable for whatever reason in the hope of finding them a new home.
